Jean-Marc XO Introduces a Vodka for Connoisseurs

Jean-Marc XO Introduces a Vodka for Connoisseurs

Discover the first small batch, hand crafted vodka, a vodka in the tradition of the finest French spirits and wines. Produced in the Cognac region of France and handcrafted in small batches from four varietals of the finest French wheat and natural spring water, Jean-Marc XO Vodka offers an enlightening experience for vodka connoisseurs. With a floral bouquet, delicate & complex wheat flavors, a very long, smooth finish and absolutely no afterburn, Jean-Marc XO Vodka is the word's first ever small batch, hand crafted vodka.

This luxury French vodka, distilled nine times in French copper Alambic stills, is a sipping vodka, which is intended to be served neat in a brandy snifter. Jean-Marc XO can also be enjoyed on the rocks or as a dry martini. Vodka aficionados will appreciate Jean-Marc XO's floral nose, pure and elegant wheat flavors, silky texture and very long finish.

"Our focus in creating Jean-Marc XO was to hand craft a product of extraordinary quality that provides not only a superior taste, but also a luxurious experience for vodka aficionados," said Jean-Marc Daucourt, creator of Jean-Marc XO and co-founder of Daucourt Martin Imports. "We spare no expense in the production of Jean-Marc XO Vodka, and we are passionate about each detail of the distillation and production process," said Daucourt.

In creating Jean-Marc XO Vodka, Daucourt begins with four select varietals of the finest wheat available in France. Utilizing pure mineral water naturally filtered through Grande Champagne limestone, the family craftsmen distill Jean-Marc XO Vodka nine times - more than any other vodka in the world - through a process that incorporates 200-year-old copper Alambic Cognac stills.

Like fine Bordeaux wines, Jean-Marc XO Vodka is micro-oxygenated, a process by which oxygen is slowly added to the liquid, giving movement to the vodka, allowing the release of its most volatile and undesirable characteristics or esters as they are known in the industry, producing a refined, clean taste. The final step is a proprietary charcoal filtering system, a Daucourt family secret, utilizing wood from Limoges. The result is the purest spirit possible, with no burn or bitterness, which provides an exceptional taste and extraordinary experience for vodka connoisseurs.

"Jean-Marc XO is the most innovative and creative vodka that has been presented to me since the vodka phenomena began," said, Sven Wiedenhaupt, Food & Beverage Manager, Four Seasons New York. "It is clear that this unique vodka is made with passion and precision. JMXO has a unique flavor profile, a delicate nose and I am very excited by its potential. Thus far, our guest's feedback has been very, very positive."

Because the product is handcrafted bottle-by-bottle, fewer than 5,000 cases of Jean-Marc XO Vodka are being produced. This is a very small quantity in comparison with more famous brands on the market, which use high-volume production techniques and continuous distillation.

Jean-Marc XO Vodka has been awarded a rating of 96 by the Beverage Testing Institute (BTI). In addition, BTI named Jean-Marc XO the Best Spirit of 2004 in the Vodka category. According to BTI, Jean-Marc XO Vodka is "a very interesting and intense product that pushes the envelope and definition of the unflavored vodka category. This is a fantastic vodka and will make an outstanding martini."

Jean-Marc XO Vodka is currently available in select markets in the United States, including Boston, Dallas, Houston, Miami, New York and Chicago and will be distributed in most major markets by the end of 2005. The product's retail price is $29.99 for a 375-ml bottle and $49.99 for a 750-ml bottle. Jean-Marc XO Vodka is imported and marketed by Daucourt Martin Imports, which specializes in cutting-edge, ultra premium French imported spirits.
