Chicago the Musical
Chicago is Burning Down L.A.!! Now playing at the Pantages Theatre for a limited 3-week engagement, through Sunday February 20th.
Patti LaBelle |
Brenda Braxton & Bianca Marroquin |
Brenda Braxton (Velma Kelly) is coming to us from Broadway where she was starring as Velma Kelly. Braxton's voice (one of the best in the cast) was silky smooth and beautiful. Her portrayal of double murderess Velma was luminous and well rounded.
Bianca Marroquin plays the star struck Roxie Heart and does so with a kooky wit and humor making her very endearing to the audience. Her dancing and voice were effervescent and full of life.
Gregory Harrison, Jennifer Mackensie Dunne & Nicole Bridgewater |
There wasn't a bad voice or weak performance in this cast of "Chicago". Look for a few of our favorite cast members R. Bean as the beautifully voiced Mary Sunshine; Dante A. Sciarra as all the hilarious members of the Jury and the decidedly not invisible P.J. Benjamin as Amos Hart. This is a fast moving show with and a solid touring company. In fact the whole production sizzles with charisma and talent. Murder, greed, corruption, violence, exploitation, adultery, and treachery - "Chicago' has what L.A. loves. A definite must see just hurry because tickets are going fast for this short engagement.
